ROSE BUK - BIOGRAPHY & ACHIEVEMENTS-
Rose began nurturing her love for art in Edmonton, Alberta, as a student in weekend classes with Gene Prokop at Pro's Art School, Studio, Gallery.  She continues to hone her skills by attending his workshops at Pro’s Art School and Studio and is inspired and challenged by painting with talented local artists. 

She viewed and studied paintings by Old Masters and contemporary artists at various galleries in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington.  Rose believes that inspiration can come from unexpected places. “Every time I study an artist I admire, I gain a new perspective and find their work influences the paintings I create.” 

Beyond technical ability, Rose feels an artist’s biggest challenge is to evoke emotion, capturing a fleeting moment or mood, involving the viewer in more than a photographic interpretation.  Her paintings welcome the viewer to experience the mood of the subject in a portrait.  Her landscapes are calm and serene where you can imagine hearing the sounds of nature, or feel the warmth of the sun.  She strives to keep her work fresh as well as allowing her to constantly grow as an artist.
