Pat Deputat Biography: "If I can capture a mood or feeling on canvas, have it expressed by the beholder/ viewer, my ultimate goal in each and every painting is accomplished." Growing up in a small rural community and later an urban environment, I had the opportunity to document various scenes from real life experiences. Most of my paintings are inspired by the appealing aspects of these experiences. I acquired good drawing techniques and gained knowledge of the basic structural principles of oil painting under the direction of well known Strathcona County artist, Ann Derhak. My artistic expectations were revitalized when I joined the Pro's Art School in January, 2001. Here under the guidance of Gene Prokop, I strive to further improve my techniques and perceptions of classical realism and naturalism. My passion for art has drawn me to visit renown Art Museums & Galleries in Paris, New York and Scottsdale, where along with the Pro's Art group, I can continue my studies of the Old and Modern Masters.
