Loraine Ure

Loraine Ure - Biography and Statement Biography – Loraine Ure Loraine Ure is a multi media artist who paints from the heart. She believes paintings are ‘landscapes of the soul’ and attempts to capture, light, emotion and atmosphere in her art, whether by quiet reflection of a child lost in dreams as in her painting of the “Daydreamer”, or in a painting of nature’s beauty. She wishes to evoke a response in her viewer that carries them in memory or to another time or place. It may be the tranquility of a peaceful pastoral scene, a still life, or a figure, perhaps the passion of rugged, raw nature unleashed that captures their imagination. Art and painting expand Loraine’s life and she wishes to bring that feeling to her viewers. As she paints with passion and soul she attempts to covey harmony between her subjects and their surroundings. She finds pleasure in draping figures to transport one to another era. Loraine’s style is directed more to natural realism and some impressionism. Loraine attained senior status in (SWCA) the Society of Western Canadian Artists and was published in a book called “Winter Treasures”. This book was compiled of 30 Canadian artists chosen from across Canada to tell the story of our take on winter. Some of the modern day masters that Loraine looks up to are David Leffel, Richard Schmid, Harley Brown, Gerhartz and Pino and favourites from the past were Leon L’Hermitte, Bouguereau, Fechin, among others. Loraine’s clients range from California to France, and from Ottawa to Vancouver. “Daydreamer” Oil original 30” x 24” not for sale Framed Giclees available Giclee 20” x 16” $350.00 “Harbour in Fog” Oil original 24” x 60” $2400.00 Loraine Ure is a multi media artist born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada.
