Artist Laraine Weaver - Biography & Achievements
Before the first time I picked up a paintbrush, I have loved art, collecting, and now have the joy of capturing the essence of light in my subjects in my own pieces. I have found oil to be the perfect medium for me to enhance vibrant color and expression of mood.
I grew up on a farm in rural Alberta and appreciate the joy of being in nature. The beauty of a wildflower, the majesty of a mountain or the highlights on a person's face provide wonderful opportunities for subjects in my paintings.
I have been fortunate to have been mentored by gifted teachers, Gene Prokop in Edmonton, and renowned artist David Leffel in the USA. I have moved from a career in Nursing to painting full time. I am committed to expanding my artistic abilities to fulfill my dreams of enriching my life and other peoples lives with beauty. My home and studio in St. Albert, Alberta, provide me with spce and surroundings that are very inspirational. Painting
