Shauna was born and raised in Red Deer, Alberta where she Currently resides with her husband Paul. They have two grown children, a daughter and a son. Choosing to be at home with her children gave Shauna the opportunity to explore a variety of art forms. In the summer of 2005 a good friend encouraged Shauna to attend oil painting classes with her. Inspired by the quality of the paintings her friend had completed during that first year, Shauna eagerly enrolled. . Traveling to Edmonton weekly, Shauna paints under the instruction of Gene Prokop, Ann Waeland and previously Loraine Ure at the Pro’s Art School. She has also participated in workshops /audits facilitated by visiting artists Robert Johnson & Zhoaming Wu. The instruction and atmosphere at the school are superb and fellow students are a great encouragement and a pleasure to be with. Shauna finds the time spent painting in class & at home, a thoroughly rewarding endeavor. Shauna paints a variety of subjects and enjoys the challenge of capturing personality, uniqueness , & beauty in the world surrounding her.
