ROSE KERELIUK - BIOGRAPHY & ACHIEVEMENTS: I cannot remember a time when I didn’t love art. When I was very young I was inspired by an uncle, who was an accomplished artist. I was also fortunate to have an art teacher, during my junior school years, who was a very good artist and encouraged her students to pursue their ambitions. She inspired me and made me hope that fine art could be my destiny.
While I was raising my family, I found little time to pursue this goal. Once retired, I found I could devote more time to realize my dream and develop as an artist. I took classes in several styles and mediums. At present, I am taking classes under the tutelage of Gene Prokop at Pros Art School. My current medium is working with oils. One of my proudest achievements was that I received a “First” place
ribbon for three consecutive years from the Orchid Society of Alberta, at their local art competition, for my paintings of orchids. I find painting to be a meaningful and relaxing part of my life.
