Joni Fisher-Canham

JONI FISHER-CANHAM - BIOGRAPHY & ACHIEVEMENTS: Joni has always had a love for art. In her travels she was often captivated with great works of European art. While raising her son, she graduated from the University of Alberta with a B Sc. in Human Ecology. She worked in Human Resources and with the Youth-at-Risk population. Following this she was in the fortunate position to pursue more creative interests.
After searching for a school, in 2008 she was fortunate to discover Pro’s Art in Edmonton. She was immediately taken with the study of oil painting and the exceptional learning environment created by mentors Gene Prokop and Ann Waeland. Having never painted before, she was delighted to learn the fundamentals and discipline of painting. Using her travels and nature as inspiration, she enjoys painting a wide variety of subject matter – including landscapes, portraits and still life. Most recently she has been studying photography and composition to assist in her art. She continues to be challenged by the instruction at Pro’s Art and to grow as an artist while enjoying the great camaraderie with other artists.
