ANN WILLIAMS - BIOGRAPHY & ACHIEVEMENTS: Ann grew up on picturesque PEI and developed an appreciation of nature, colour and beauty from her mother. Although she always had a desire to paint, life was busy with a career as a Medical Laboratory Technologist and raising two boys with her husband Brent in southern Alberta and in Toronto. It was after a battle with breast cancer that she realized that life is short and uncertain, so one must stop and paint the roses along the way. She began with watercolour classes but found she was wishing to be in the oil painting class across the hall. After Ann moved to Edmonton she was introduced to Pro’s Art in 2005. She was hooked! She says “The teaching is amazing, even the first picture turns out so well you think you are an artist! It’s after that you realize how much there is to learn, but it is a wonderful and fulfilling journey”. Ann is fascinated with colour and learning to see the many hues in light and shadow, particularly in portrait painting and more recently in landscapes.
