Biography of Ann Waeland
Ann Waeland was born in England and came from a very artistic family. Ann's father was an artist and she studied with him at an early age. While living in England she was fortunate to study the "Masters" at the Tate Gallery and the Royal Academy
Her first love was in Floral Design and Floristry. She studiedd in London at the Constance Spry Academy of Floristry. She also chaired a 400 member Floral Society, teaching, demonstrating and organizing shows.
Ann studied at the Hartley School of Cake Design in London. One of her wedding cake designs was featured at the prestigious Harrod's Store in London, England.
After 30 years as a florist, she felt the need to broaden her talents, and brush in hand, fell in love with oil painting. Ann has been teaching at the Pro's Art School since 2000 and a selection of her paintings can be seen at the Pro's Art Gallery.
She has worked on commissions from England, U.S. Canada, France & Australia covering the Global Challenge "Around the World Yacht Race" in 2004/2005. Turning her brush to yachts in high seas was a real change from her love of flowers, gardens & peaceful pastimes.
Ann is happiest when absorbing herself within her paintings or sharing her love of art with others.
