Weekend Workshops  2010:

February Workshops:

Workshop:  Sketching & Drawing Date: Thurs., Feb. 11, 2010 Time:  10 am - 12 Noon Cost: $15 - 20 Substrate:  Newsprint or Canvas Instructor:  Gene  Prokop                           Description:  Artists will be working from Live Models or from the Flat.  Development of Sketching & Drawing Skills in the Atelier Methods will be the focus of this class.  Please bring your materials and be prompt.   Materials Required:  all regular sketching & drawing supplies plus, brushes, extra canvas paper, newsprint, conte crayons, charcoal, etc.    There are multiple drawing classes offered in February. Students must pre -register and pre -pay for each class.  Call (780) 486-6661.

Workshop: Still Life Composition Set-Up Dates: Thurs., Feb. 18, 2010 or             Sun., Feb. 21, 2010 Time:  10 am - 4 pm Cost:  $40 Substrate: 12 x 16 stretch canvas Instructor:  Gene Prokop  Description:  Compostion is of the utmost importance when creating stilllife masterpieces.  Artists will be guided as to the proper placement of elements in the compostion.                                           Materials Required:  all regular painting supplies including brushes, canvas, flowers, fruit, rags, note paper, pens, camera, your favorite oil paints, lunch (please check with Gene regarding Still Life elements).  Students must pre -register and pre -pay.  Call (780) 486-6661.

March Workshops:

Atelier Workshop- March 6-7, 2010 Workshop: Atelier Dates: March 6 & 7, 2010 Time:  March 6 - 2 to 6 pm           March 7 - 10 am to 4 pm Cost:  TBA Substrate:  12 x 16 stretch canvas, as well as your choice of 8 x 8, 8 x 10 or 6 x 6 stretch canvas or board Instructor:  Gene Prokop Description: Gene will be teaching an Extensive Atelier Workshop. Join him to develop the methods taught in the Atelier Schools of Europe. Materials Required:  palette or matt knife to sharpen pencils, brushes, spong,e (soft & small), 12 x 16 canvas, 2 HB pencils, 18 x 24 newsprint pad, camera, your favorite oil paints, lunch (please check with Gene for specifics on pencil preparation).   Students must pre -register and pre -pay.  Call (780) 486-6661.
