About Marie Neys

Art has always been part of Marie Neys’ life. She enjoys many facets of Art including the creation, the discovery & the promotion of it.

Creating Art - Marie works with many mediums, her favorites include Traditional Oils and Heat Set Oils. Landscapes, portraiture, still life & florals are some of her favorite subject matter. Currently she is focusing on Portraiture. Her most current work is titled “Selling Chicklets” and depicts a young Mexican Child who is selling chicklets on the streets of Mazetlan. The boy is looking through a fence at the people inside a restraunt…enjoying lunch. The pain in his eyes, tells the story.

Promoting Art - Marie owns and operates Pro’s Framing (located within Pro’s Art Gallery & Framing) and enjoys assisting the artists of Pro’s Art along with the community at whole with All of their framing needs. Along with running Pro’s Framing, Marie Neys manages the Art Gallery, for the owner Gene Prokop. Promoting the emerging artists, that paint at Pro’s Art, is one of many responsibilities Marie tackles with zest & enthusiasm. She also plans the bi-monthly Gallery Exhibitions, assists with advertising the Gallery & sells works of art both nationally and on the international market.

Marie also has a lifelong passion for education and has obtained a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (major in Marketing), a Fellowship of the Institute of Canadian Bankers (FICB) and the Canadian Standards of Excellance Award for Decorative Art.
